A diamond heist turned deadly causes Ballauf and Schenk to protect the sister of one of the outlaws. Directed by Hendrik Handloegten, 2006.

What inspector Borowski hears and sees at the crime scene this time also exceeds his imagination: the pregnant Stefanie Brückner had her baby cut out of her body shortly before she was born. The mother is in mortal danger, there is no trace of the child. Frieda Jung surprises Borowski with the assumption that it is very likely a woman who cannot have children of her own, socially isolated and unmarried. A clever analysis, but Frieda Jung is wrong about one important detail.

The internationally renowned physicist Raimund Jakobi is shot dead in broad daylight. The brilliant researcher—and head of department at the company Ultra Light Car (ULC)—was on the verge of completing a multi-million-dollar project: the development of a revolutionary new material for the automotive industry—a global first. Upon arriving at ULC, Detective Eisner encounters a tense and volatile atmosphere; the socially inept Jakobi was, to put it mildly, far from popular among his staff. Moreover, the very future of the company hinges on the success of his project.

In the Tyrolean mountains, a Black African asylum seeker is found murdered. The investigation by the local criminal police—led by Inspector Pfurtscheller—hits a dead end. Using the pretext that the crime might be a politically motivated assassination, Pfurtscheller manages to persuade the Ministry of the Interior to assign his old acquaintance—the Viennese special investigator Moritz Eisner—to this explosive case. [Eisner (Vienna) & Pfurtscheller (Innsbruck)]

Commissioner Borowski is on his way home from a fishing holiday when he is called for help at an unusual point: in the middle of the sea, on the way from Sweden to Germany, the captain of the ferry has disappeared without a trace. Borowski had seen him shortly before, when Captain Venske had been arguing with his First Officer Björndahl at the bar. Borowski has all the passengers on the ferry screened and reconstructs the captain's last hours. Even the first trace is strange: someone has opened the pilot door - the signal for an emergency. Did Captain Venske leave voluntarily, was it suicide, accident or murder?

It should look like an accident. But Prof. Boerne's autopsy findings are clear: the well-known clairvoyant Roswitha Brehm was murdered. Just a few hours before the crime, she had desperately tried to contact Inspector Thiel. Did she want to solve a crime again using a pendulum? Thiel is skeptical. But now the clairvoyant died in the mysterious villa that had already made big headlines in Münster. Years ago, almost the entire Steinhagen family was shot here. The case went unpunished and the bodies were never found. Only the adopted daughter Franziska survived the bloodbath. Is there a connection between the clairvoyant's death and the murder of the Steinhagens?
